Mr James Dewhurst, known to many as “Grandad” and of Dowry Street, Accrington died suddenly in the early hours on Thursday, April 11, 2013, aged 77 years. Mrs Bessie Leeming of Kirk House, Church, Accrington died peacefully in the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, aged 89 years. Bessie worked as a weaver after leaving school.
