Thomas Kennedy - 1 scanDied peacefully in the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Thursday 10th December 2015, and of Lammack, Blackburn, Thomas aged 89 years.

Throughout his life Thomas was a school teacher.  He taught French and R.E at St Mary’s on Dean St, Blackburn.  In 1956 he taught Maths and also helped out with P.E at St Mary’s College, Blackburn.

In his spare time he enjoyed playing golf and was a member of Blackburn Golf Club, Thomas was also a member of Blackburn Probus Club, where he served as their President for a time. He was also a loyal and devout member of Sacred Heart Church, Blackburn.

Thomas had a great interest in football and played for Lancashire as a boy, he was the Captain at his College (Strawberry Hill, Twickenham) and also played as an amateur for St Joseph’s and St Mary’s College, he also ran the St Mary’s “Old Boys” and enjoyed playing Snooker and Bridge.

Thomas was a great friend to many and will be sadly missed by all his loving family and friends

The dearly loving husband of Margaret (Marguerite), a much loved father of Fiona and Jane and also a treasured grandad of Bibi, Simon, Henry and Thomas.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Blackburn on Tuesday 22nd December at 11.00am, prior to a private family interment at St Mary’s Churchyard, Osbaldeston.  Family flowers only please but donations are welcomed for the East Lancashire Hospice, further enquires please to Paul Barton of Barton & Hallworth Funeral Service, The Old Foxhill, 136 Union Road, Oswaldtwistle.
