Posted by Sarah Barton.

Mr Terence Irving from Oswaldtwistle, known to many as Terry died peacefully at his daughter’s home in Lower Darwen, whilst surrounded by  his loving family, on Tuesday 30th July 2013, aged 71 years.

Terence was a HGV driver for many years and worked for firms including Gilbraith Tankers, Gibbs, and Killingbeck. He always put his family first and in order to spend more time with them he went to work at Walker Steel where he stayed for over 10 years. He also worked at Wills textiles and then as a Security Guard up until his retirement.

In his spare time Terence loved photography and researching his family tree.  His greatest passion of all was his grandchildren whom he saw every day.

Terence leaves behind his dearly loving wife Pat, his loving daughter Nicola and son-in-law David, his treasured grandchildren Niamh, Erin and Brydie.  He was also a much loved brother of Audrey, Maureen and Michael.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 11.00am at Accrington Crematorium. Family flowers only please, but donations are welcomed for Marie Curie Cancer c/o Barton & Hallworth Funeral Service, The Old Foxhill, 136 Union Road, Oswaldtwistle. Tel: 01254 390542.
